In a very bizarre shooting incident in North Georgia, a loved Social Sciences teacher barricaded himself in a class before getting a shot off his handgun. This comes just a couple weeks after the Florida School shooting in which the nation is still mourning the 17 lives of students and staff that were taken.
No Deaths at Dalton High School
There were no deaths at the school because of the incident. In fact, the only person to get hurt due to the shooting was a female student who hurt her ankle as she ran away. The reason for this is that the teacher, Randall Jesse Davidson had barricaded himself inside a classroom while the students were outside. Even the shot that he fired from his gun went out the window.
According to the police, the 53-year-old teacher was arrested after a stand-off with the police that lasted less than an hour. Besides no one being in any real danger the school was placed under complete lockdown with students and teachers evacuated from the school buildings. Did you know that school kids are not allowed to play Real money pokies at the most casinos especial if they are under 18 year.
Atoning For a Previous Crime
The whole Dalton community in Georgia, is in shock at what arguably the most-loved teacher at the school did. Social media was flooded with messages from students who expressed disbelief that their “favourite” teacher had done such a thing. Davidson was not only a teacher at the school but he was also a popular radio personality being the voice that gave the play-by-play action at football games.
What made such a stand-up guy snap will only be fully known with time. Already there are pieces of information that are coming out which might hint at why he did what he did.
The teacher is said to have once reported that he had a woman killed. However, the police could not substantiate his claims and dismissed them. Some people close to the teacher say that he was against President Trump’s idea to arm teachers with guns as a move to reduce death by shooting at schools. Therefore, he took the opportunity to show that teachers could end up being the shooters while getting atonement for his earlier crime.
The Dalton police spokesperson Bruce Frazier said that the teacher is being charged with “aggravated assault, carrying weapon on school grounds, terroristic threats, reckless conduct, possession of gun during commission of a crime, and disrupting public school“
